A modular, geodesic housing platform engineered to be built once, then manufactured — not constructed — at scale, across Africa.
"Everyone deserves a safe, affordable, and dignified home."
Housing is more than shelter. It is security, dignity, opportunity, and the foundation of every thriving community.
The way homes are built has remained largely unchanged for generations. While industries such as automotive manufacturing and technology have embraced innovation, housing construction continues to rely on methods that are expensive, time consuming, and difficult to scale.
Kwik Dome exists to change that.
To become Africa's leading provider of modular, rapidly deployable housing systems that are safe, durable, affordable, and engineered for the future.
South Africa continues to face one of the largest housing shortages in the world. Millions of people live in informal settlements where homes are vulnerable to fire, flooding, strong winds, and extreme temperatures.
"Every year, shack fires destroy entire communities, leaving families without homes or possessions."
The challenge is no longer simply building more houses.
The challenge is building homes smarter.
Kwik Dome is a modular construction system based on proven geodesic engineering principles. Rather than building with conventional brick-and-mortar methods, Kwik Dome uses precision-manufactured components transported as a compact kit and assembled efficiently on site.
Kwik Dome is not simply another house. It is an entirely new approach to residential construction.
The geodesic dome distributes structural loads throughout the entire framework instead of concentrating them on individual walls — creating strength while reducing material usage. The shift from cement to Chromadek composite panels transformed Kwik Dome from a construction product into a scalable manufacturing system.
Every connection point in the frame is a modeled, manufacturable hub — reduced to three standardized types: 3-way hubs , 5-way hubs , and 6-way hubs . Modeling all hub variants as a single manufacturable part is what makes the frame consistent to produce and quick to assemble on site, panel by panel.
| Traditional Cement Panels | Chromadek Composite Panels |
|---|---|
| Long curing time | Immediate bonding |
| Heavy handling | Lightweight |
| Slower manufacturing | Faster production |
| Higher labour requirement | Simplified installation |
| Difficult replacement | Modular replacement |
| Moisture during curing | Dry assembly process |
Every aspect of the system improves everyday living — delivering more than structural performance.

Contemporary, yet practical and affordable.
One manufacturing platform. Multiple market opportunities. Every configuration uses the same 6m-diameter dome — the difference is what it sits on.
The dome is erected on a circular concrete floor, 10cm thick, less than 400kg for the complete dome. A steel rebar ring is embedded in the concrete near the edge, and the dome is fastened directly to it. Sewerage, water, and electrical services are embedded in the concrete before the dome goes up — so toilet and bathroom walls can be fully finished before the dome is erected over the whole area. A raised wooden deck can also be considered in place of the concrete slab.
The same dome is used — but raised. A 2m-high ring wall is built from hollow-core bricks (or light steel and panel construction), with the toilet and bathroom walls inside it. The top section of the wall is filled with concrete and rebar embedded near the top, and the dome is placed on the wall and fastened to that rebar. A roof over the toilet and bathroom — half the size of the dome — forms the mezzanine floor above. Services, windows, and doors are embedded directly into the wall, the same way they're embedded in the concrete floor of the standard dome.
A mid-point option — a short wall raises the dome's springline, increasing internal wall height and usable floor space without the full mezzanine build.
Future Product Variants
A simplified geodesic model you can rotate right here — alongside the actual 3D-printed scale prototype used to test panel geometry and hub placement before manufacturing.
The versatility of the platform significantly expands its commercial potential.
What the platform delivers — for residents, developers, and governments alike.
Erected on site in a fraction of the time of brick-and-mortar construction.
Complete dome weighs less than 400kg — easy to handle, transport, and install.
Built to withstand the fires that regularly destroy informal settlements.
Comfortable in extreme heat and cold, with excellent natural airflow.
Geodesic geometry and standardized hubs distribute load across the frame.
Precision-manufactured components use only what the structure needs.
Ships as a kit, not a truckload of bricks and cement.
Manufactured components mean every dome performs the same way.
Built for mass manufacturing, not one-off site-by-site construction.
Standard, raised wall, or mezzanine — one platform, multiple floor areas.
Reduced labour, faster deployment, and simplified logistics cut costs throughout.
Concealed services, modern finishes, and flexible layouts — not a stopgap shelter.
Our long-term vision is not to become another construction company. Our objective is to establish a manufacturing business capable of producing standardized housing components at scale.
